My Philosophy of Photography
How could i sign a photograph of a sunset, temple or child and imagine i deserve even 1% of the credit... When the subject itself is nothing short of a miracle. i consider myself like someone who refinishes old masterpieces. Both jobs take skill, practice, patience, and a special eye. They are not jobs anyone can do. So i want to take credit where credit is due, but also when we show up to "work" 99.5% of the work is already finished. So i want to give credit where credit is due, and there is a lot of credit due. No matter what i take a photo of, i always feel most of the work has already been done, by nature and by other people.
My main source of income is from photography yet i consider myself an amature. "Translated from its French origin to the English "lover of", the term "amateur" reflects a voluntary motivation to work as a result of personal passion for a particular activity." Amature just reflects your motivation, for the love of it. Amature does not reflect your abilities or even if you get paid. 100 years ago calling a photographer an amature was a compliment. With materialism taking over our life & our language, today it is commonly thought of as an insult. I like to see things from many angles, whether it be a problem, a person or a subject of a photograph. Also i want to encourage you all to make your own personal images of how you see the world. |
