the Santi Asoke monks at the Bangkok protests
The monks and nuns sit 50m from the stage. they are there to stop violence and be an
example of the middle path. they do not applaud anyone, just listen and observe.
the asoke people, or dharma army as they are called in thai, cooks free vegetarian food for
all, has a first aid van and does anything they can to help including cleaning toilets
with a smile. They are honestly kind to all, including some people who refused to eat
their food cause it was vegetarian. they just told them where to find meat, as politely as
could be.
PHOTO TIP OF THE WEEK
Timing, timing, timing, sometimes timing can be a matter of a split second to catch the applause of the crowd. Sometimes timing means waiting all day for protesters to sit next to the monks so you can better show them in context of being at a protests. Either way timing is an essential factor in photography. |
